For this Snoo review, nosotros spent xxx days with the Snoo Smart Sleeper from Happiest Baby, and meticulously documented the experience – good, bad, and weird. Then, because yous can't have plenty info when thinking about the Snoo, nosotros had a second couple test information technology out and included their review also (keep scrolling).

To start, here's a 5-infinitesimal video review of the Snoo from the other one-half of Fathercraft, John:

Just what is a Snoo, and how does it work?

Printing that covers Apple love to ask hypothetical questions like, "What if Apple designed a refrigerator?" If you lot've wondered something similar about bassinettes or cribs, the answer is, "Probably something similar to the Snoo bassinet".

The Snoo is like an ordinary bassinet (a pocket-size crib-like structure that allows your baby to slumber next to your bed for the first 6 months of life) merely information technology'southward equipped with sound sensors, wifi, speakers that deliver varying types of white noise, and a robotic motor that rocks your babe at different levels of intensity in response to whatever noise (from the infant) the sensors detect.

The Snoo bassinet is a collaboration between Dr. Harvey Karp (famous to some parents equally the guy whose Happiest Baby on the Block DVD recommends the "five S's" of calming your baby – these are quite constructive by the manner – and Yves Behar, a renowned industrial designer whose clients include Sodastream, Dyson, and Herman Miller office furniture to name a few.

The result of this collaboration is what Happiest Baby (the visitor that articles the Snoo baby bed) calls "the safest baby bed ever made" and "like a nighttime nurse* for around $seven per night".

The Snoo works like this: yous swaddle your baby with a Snoo Sack (comes with the Snoo). The Snoo Sack has "wings" – clips that attach your infant to the sides of the Snoo sleeper so she can't roll over (nearly all experts believe healthy babies should sleep on their back to reduce the risk of SIDS and SUID.) Once your babe is strapped in, The Snoo gently rocks your baby and plays white noise through its integrated speakers. This gentle motion and white noise continue all night unless your babe gets upset. If this happens, Snoo recognizes crying with its sensors and attempts to calm your baby with several levels of greater intensity – both in white noise and rocking. Ideally, your babe is calmed and goes back to sleep without you having to lift a finger – or become out of bed.

Happiest Baby notes that yous'll (of grade) still demand to feed your infant, and that sometimes your kid merely needs to exist comforted past a human, have a diaper changed, needs a pacifier, etc. But, the Snoo should robotically take care of the remainder.

At this point, if you're a parent who has experienced just how tired you can be taking care of a newborn, y'all're thinking "Woah." or something to that effect. If you're not, information technology'south because you're some lucky bounder whose partner did nearly all the work. I'm not judging, I'yard one of them – and I was withal tired a lot during this phase. You're too experiencing some degree of serious skepticism. Perhaps some discomfort, confusion, and other mixed emotions thrown in in that location as well.

In this mail service, we'll accost these questions and more:

  • Does the Snoo actually work?
  • How, exactly?
  • Can I actually entrust my newborn kid with a robotic night nurse*? Does something as unproblematic as a crib actually demand to be "revolutionized" past the Internet of Things?
  • What are the drawbacks?
  • How much does it cost? What'southward with this Snoo rental program?
  • Is the Snoo worth it?

To answer all of these, my girl Ruby, my wife, and I spent 30 days and nights with the Snoo baby bed. I meticulously documented all of information technology and distilled it all downwards into this Snoo bassinet review. Permit's get started.

*If you lot're not familiar, a dark nurse is a flagman who comes over to your house at night and keeps an middle on your baby all night, calming them when needed, feeding them, etc. Pretty sweet, if you've got some serious greenbacks.

The crawly, the 'wish it were dissimilar' and a verdict.

Because this was such a big-ticket, profoundly-unlike-than-the-alternative particular, I've included total notes from our 30 solar day trial at the finish of this mail service. I'k an information junkie, and then I would have found this useful before purchasing. Merely not everyone is, and so if yous just want the good, the bad, and the verdict, here yous go, in a scannable form:

The crawly:

The magic moments. There were a number of moments during the course of thirty days when I thought, "holy cow if it weren't for the Snoo, I couldn't exist doing X, because I'd be walking around trying to rock Ruby to slumber in my arms." For me, "X" was working from dwelling when she was fussy and clearly needed a nap but wouldn't accept gone downwardly without the Snoo and spending fourth dimension with my wife in the evening.

The safe measures.Happiest Baby markets the Snoo every bit "the safest baby bed ever made" due to the fact it keeps sleeping babies on their backs, the safest position for well-nigh. I felt deeply comforted by this fact.

The Snoo Sack (swaddle). The swaddle is pretty amazing. In fact, I was inspired enough to leave the following Snoo sack review on the visitor'due south website, and it's not hyperbole:"As a dad who is utterly hopeless attempting to swaddle with a coating and still struggles to get information technology right with the other velcro/zipper swaddling solutions I've tried, the Snoo Sack makes me experience like a pro! I'm able to go my daughter in it incredibly rapidly, she feels secure, looks happy, and doesn't escape within minutes like she does with other swaddling solutions. Just awesome!"

Integrated white noise. If you believe in using white noise to help babies sleep, and you've had a baby, yous probably know finding something to evangelize consistent, not annoying, white noise for a 12- hour period is actually something of a claiming. So I very much appreciated the Snoo's built-in speakers.

The customer service. I contacted Happiest Baby a number of times during the 30 days, on questions ranging from, "Isn't Reddish going to get common cold in a swaddle with mesh?" (nope, parents tend to overdress babies, and here'southward how to check if you're worried – impact her ear) to "the app isn't working, help?" (they offered help, we gave up) to "the rocking at the kickoff seems likewise vigorous" (a new choice is now available via software update – how absurd is that? I'd similar to think we had a manus in changing this). In all cases, client service was outstanding. Fast, thorough, and went well across my expectations for knowledge and general helpfulness of client service folks.

The absurd cistron. Snoo has a serious cool gene. Specially since information technology just came out in October of last yr – I felt the same feelings I felt as a relatively early adopter of the starting time iPhone (only maybe in dad course …)

The 30-day take chances-gratis guarantee. With something this expensive, and this new, at that place can be a lot of malaise about purchase. But, Happiest Baby includes a 30-mean solar day "worry gratis" guarantee, meaning if you don't beloved the Snoo inside the outset 30 days of receiving it, y'all can return it for a full refund (they'll fifty-fifty pay shipping on the mode back).

The wish it were different:

Price. The Snoo costs $1,495. Yep, you read that correct, $1,495 for a infant bed.(Before you give up, be sure to check out details of the Snoo rental programme beneath.) This is by far the biggest downside of the Snoo I came up with after 30 days with it. A couple of things on toll: 1) walk into a high-stop store like Restoration Hardware of Land of Nod and you tin can absolutely spend this much on an ordinary crib. 2) Your child will but be in Snoo for 6 months vs. maybe a couple of years for a crib (and new parents who don't have a crib will need to purchase a Snoo, then a crib too when the baby hits half-dozen months). three) The company uses somethingvery expensive – a night nurse – to compare against, and aye, if y'all compare against that, Snoo is a bargain, only most of u.s. tin can't afford a night nurse. 4) Sleep for yous and your meaning other and time (that you would have spent rocking/soothing) are two things it's very difficult to put a price on, merely they're worth a lot. I am confident for nigh babies Snoo would go parents more of both fourth dimension and sleep. 5)Happiest Infant rolled out a rental program and has been supporting it with special offers, so it'due south worth taking a await. 6) I wouldn't be surprised if a market for used Snoo Smart Sleepers pops up, significant you could sell it when washed to defray some of your toll.

More information on employ. This thing is damn easy to ready and use, *only* given how unlike/weird it felt at first to be sticking our child in it, I wished at that place was more info given by the company on using it.

Lack of portability. The Snoo is quite heavy and large. We took a weekend auto trip during our testing and didn't bother putting the Snoo in the machine for this reason. The company's sleep good did signal out to me that babies using Snoo do fine when away from it for up to a week, especially if you use the same white noise sounds (bachelor on Apple Music) and the Snoo swaddle while you

Here'due south the Snoo set up next to a total-sized crib for scale

Only one swaddle of each size, ane fitted sheet. The Snoo comes with one small, i medium, and ane large swaddle (called a Snoo Sack), and i fitted sheet. Extras are available from the website but are $38 each. [Update: the price of boosted Snoo sacks has been lowered to $34.95, a small but nice gesture, and fitted sheets are now just $38.fifty for a 3 pack] If your child spits upwards/throws at all and gets the swaddle size they're using dirty, you'll need extras/need to do daily laundry. Multiple swaddles are something you'd probably buy without a Snoo, and most aren't that much cheaper than Snoo Sacks, and, as I mentioned above the Snoo Sack was definitely the all-time in the many I've tried.

The things to note:

Snoo Guilt.I found myself feeling rather guilty sometimes in two scenarios: i) when I put Ruby in the Snoo when she was fussy and conspicuously tired, or ii) when the Snoo calmed an upset Red. Hither I was letting a machine calm my kid. Was that my job every bit a parent? Was I missing out on disquisitional bonding moments? Based on their sales material, I'chiliad confident Happiest Baby would tell me that the Snoo was helping Ruby get much-needed remainder, and helping me and my wife get a much-needed interruption. I tend to concord with them – go rest and be a meliorate parent during the day – but I yet felt guilty on occasion, and I clearly wasn't alone – other Snoo reviews I read mentioned similar feelings.

The mobile app.We had some challenges with the mobile app – primarily not being able to have 2 users on the app (my wife's phone and mine). This was pretty annoying, but, this being a modern mobile app that gets updates, it's probably fixed past now – nosotros were using a very early version. [Update: as of March 2018, in that location take been 3 updates to the mobile app since the version we used, and based on the release notes improvements have been made!]

Wifi Shielding and Blue Light Emission.(For those of you who think about weird things, similar me.) I am rather paranoid well-nigh exposing my kids to radiation from cell phones and wifi, so I worried about the fact the Snoo had wifi built in. Simply and then I read that the Snoo has a built-in metal shield to protect the baby from any potential radiation. This was one of those, "wow, they thought of everything" moments for me that made me feel even more confident about the attending to detail on the production every bit a whole. Some other of those moments came later when I saw Happiest Baby released "depression legs" for the Snoo – designed to lower the Snoo for parents with platform beds who wanted to exist able to encounter their baby without needing to fully sit up – a small only user-friendly bear on (also capped off past an ambrosial dachshund in their picture of the legs).

I'k also obsessed with removing light (particularly blue light) from our bedroom to try and achieve the 'sleep in total darkness' affair, so the blue LED ring surrounding the power button bellyaching me, specially because information technology's kind of brilliant.

Severe Congestion: Snoo v. Stone 'north Play. Ruddy suffered from severe nasal congestion during our trial and as a outcome, two things happened: 1) frequent center-of-the-night clearing of nasal passages – more on that before long – and 2) shifting Ruby from the Snoo to the Stone n' Play. If you're not familiar, a Rock 'northward Play elevates a child's head.NOTE: almost experts recommend almost babies sleep flat, this happened before the Rock 'n Play retrieve that occurred in mid-2019. We felt guilty using a Rock 'n Play for extended periods of sleep, though did get the get-ahead from our doctor's office. Ruby seemed to breathe easier with her head elevated in the Rock 'n Play vs. flat in the Snoo. This is probably a rare trouble – we live in Denver and when traveling to Phoenix for a weekend this problem magically disappeared, we presume with lower altitude. When I spoke with Snoo's sleep skillful about this he noted they were working on an insert for elevating, and in the meantime, nosotros could try putting tuna cans nether the two legs near Ruby's caput. Unfortunately, this didn't seem to dramatically help congestion, though the idea of using tuna cans to drag a $1,200 bassinet did provide some entertainment.

[Update] Those inserts the sleep adept mentioned are now here in the form of Snoo Leg Lifters. They elevate two of the Snoo'south legs (the ones closest to your babe'south head) to create a slight angle and salve congestion.

The verdict … is the Snoo worth it?

Kickoff of all, if y'all:

  1. Tin spend $i,495 on something your kid will utilise for 6 months and feel fiscally responsible
  2. Have a particularly fussy babe or a poor sleeper
  3. Desperately need more sleep, or, perhaps more than importantly, have a partner who badly needs more slumber

Or some combination of the above, you should get a Snoo, easily down. The Snoo volition almost without question save y'all time by helping your baby autumn asleep without human intervention, assistance you get more than slumber past helping your baby sleep more, and make you feel like yous've given your child the safest possible sleeping environment you lot tin, which is a keen feeling.[Note: if $ane,495 is a lot, check out the rental programme – a special offer is currently bachelor – definitely worth a look.]

If you:

  1. Aren't getting a Snoo for a newborn (your baby will stay in the Snoo only 6 months)
  2. Accept a baby who already sleeps extremely well
  3. Know that $1,495 will cause financial strain

Or some combination of the above, it's a flake of a tougher call. Conspicuously, parents take survived for millennia without a motorized bassinet – y'all tin can too.

If your baby is much older than a newborn, your fourth dimension with the Snoo is going to be shortened, peculiarly by the time it arrives and your baby fully transitions to the betoken you both enjoy the total benefit.

If your baby is already a pro sleeper, yous may not notice the benefits of the Snoo (other than rubber benefits) all that often. Happiest Infant does point out that many babies who are at showtime bang-up sleepers go through a period of "sleep regression", during which they take a much more difficult fourth dimension getting to sleep and staying asleep, and that those babies benefit from the Snoo. While we didn't feel this, I certainly can believe it.

They also betoken out that almost babies slumber ameliorate swaddled, but the American Academy of Pediatrics doesn't recommend swaddling a infant for sleep once the infant can roll over as it may increase SIDS and SUID risk. Since the Snoo's wings physically prevent a baby from rolling over while sleeping in the Snoo, it allows babies who are capable of rolling over to remain swaddled for slumber, thus improving slumber.

A last notation on price: $one,495 is a lot of coin. Some things that might make it more tolerable are 1) if you plan on having multiple kids, you could use Snoo for two kids and mentally amortize the cost across both of them or two) if you lot believe there'southward enough of a secondary market for the Snoo that you lot can sell information technology after 6 months and recoup some of your investment. Based on our research, more people are kickoff to search for "used snoo" and the like on Google, suggesting demand for gently-used Snoos. And the fact that you'll exist able to fourth dimension the date y'all'll no longer need the Snoo would requite you extra time to effigy out how to sell it.

And so our overall verdict? This is a badass product. If you can afford it without financial strain, yous should buy it – cost is the merely real downside to this product based on our trial. The Snoo also includes a 30-day money back guaranteed if it'south something you feel like you need to try for yourself before committing to.Happiest Baby has had some incentives available for the rental program – definitely worth checking.

In that location you have it – detailed thoughts on the Snoo. What follows is boosted photos we took, forth with detailed notes I took during our 30-day trial.

Yous also don't need to take our word for it – there are over 2,100 reviews from verified buyers on Happiest Infant's website including a star rating and text reviews, which are interesting to read.

The Snoo rental program

Introduced in January 2019, the Snoo rental program allows y'all to (look for information technology …) rent the Snoo. If you programme on having multiple kids, or take a friend who might borrow the Snoo after your get-go kid, giving it a good domicile before a potential 2d kid, outright purchasing the Snoo will save you money in the long term.

Snoo oft asked questions

Here are some things nosotros get asked a lot from readers and prospective buyers:

Is the Snoo safety?

Snoo is marketed as "the safest baby bed ever made", and for good reason: its design keeps a baby on her back, the safest sleep position co-ordinate to the American University of Pediatrics, the Snoo Sack promotes a healthy hip position and prevents material from covering a baby'southward mouth and nose.

Is the Snoo safe for newborns?

Newborns are tiny, fragile creatures. So it'due south natural to wonder if the Snoo, with its automatic jiggling of your baby and white noise levels is safe for newborn babies. Merely, Snoo was designed to be used from twenty-four hours one, and extensively tested for newborn safety.

How long can my baby sleep in the Snoo?

The Snoo is designed for babies up to 6 month old, 25 pounds or less, who cannot yet become up on hands and knees, so whichever of these milestones occurs first means its time for your baby to movement to a crib. For nigh babies, this is around iv-half dozen months.

Should my infant nap in the Snoo?

Yep. Snoo should be used for naps in addition to nighttime. You'll likely meet your infant's naps are longer with Snoo than without. And then, it'due south possible for Snoo to be your baby's merely sleep spot for a while. That said, if you miss a nap or travel, totally fine.

Does the Snoo ever stop moving?

The Snoo's baseline level (what your babe will feel almost of the time) includes a gentle rocking motion that keeps your baby moving all night long—this is office of the program designed to maximize slumber. You tin plough this off with "weaning mode".

Does the Snoo make noise all night?

Aye, the Snoo's baseline level (what your babe will experience most of the time), does include a low level of white noise, which is part of the program designed to ameliorate your baby's slumber.

Does the Snoo automatically plow off?

If your babe begins to cry, the Snoo cycles through increasing levels of white noise and rocking, designed to calm your baby. Even so, sometimes your baby only needs human interaction (or a feed), so Snoo automatically turns off after a few minutes, signaling it'south time for you to become aid your child.

Where is the Snoo available?

The Snoo is currently available in the United States and in England/the UK.

Can you use breathing monitoring monitors similar Nanit or Miku with the Snoo?

Since the Snoo employs constant, gentle movement to help your babe sleep, and monitors like Nanit and Miku rely on estimator vision to find the movement of your baby's chest to determine that breathing is going on, the two aren't uniform. That said, nosotros'd note that you'll use a infant monitor for years, you'll utilise the Snoo for a maximum of 6 months, and then we don't necessarily recommend choosing your baby monitor based on this. If you are looking to practice vitals monitoring while your baby is in the Snoo, Owlet is your best bet (our review hither).

A second review: Liz & Arys

With a product like the Snoo, yous might want to hear what multiple people thought. Then, our Snoo review features two reviews! Here are thoughts from thoughts from Friends of Fathercraft Liz & Arys.

Liz and Arys used their Snoo for four months and found information technology helpful to say the least.  They loved the engineering that came with the Snoo. The fact that it would turn on motion and white noise in response to their babe crying was so helpful and worked to put her back to sleep many times without anyone always having to go in the room.  Amazing!

They kept the motion set to "express" the entire fourth dimension they used the Snoo and felt that was plenty move for a tiny babe.

Liz and Arys also appreciated being able to see how long their babe was sleeping, considering life with a newborn is a flake hectic.  It was easy to forget what time she actually fell asleep and woke up.

The Slumber Sack was besides a bonus that came with the Snoo.  Infant Aviana loved beingness swaddled, and so the Snoo Slumber Sack, which acts as a swaddle prevented her from getting her artillery out during naps and at night.  She had a hard time sleeping anywhere other than the Snoo, so they rented a Snoo when they were on holiday for consistency.  Liz said she thinks their trip would accept been much less enjoyable without the Snoo.

Liz said the transition out of the Snoo wasn't terrible, but they stopped using information technology when Aviana was four months old because she was rolling over and their doctor said she should not be swaddled anymore.  She does nonetheless rely on white noise for sleeping, but how many babies don't demand that?

The Snoo has a very sleek appearance, and they appreciated that it looked nice anywhere.  They liked the look of the Snoo and said it was like shooting fish in a barrel to assemble.

Liz and Arys did not use the Snoo for their firstborn.  He was a great sleeper and the Snoo was unnecessary.  If yous have a "adept sleeper," the Snoo might but get the baby used to "luxuries" that he or she will then need to exist weaned off of.  That is one of the biggest complaints I accept heard – transitioning out of the Snoo can be very challenging.

Liz definitely thinks they all benefited from extra hours of sleep that the Snoo provided – what family unit with a newborn doesn't want that?  She does advise renting a Snoo before purchasing, or fifty-fifty renting for the 4-half dozen months that you use it.  She rented hers while on vacation and thought it was definitely worth the cost.

Liz and Arys call up that the toll of the Snoo is justified considering the engineering science is so advanced and information technology helped them go some much wanted extra sleep with a newborn baby.  If your baby is a skilful sleeper or has reflux, the Snoo might non be the best choice.

The Awesome

The Technology – The Snoo automatically turns on white noise or move based on sensors that detect if your baby is making noise.  This allows the caregivers to hopefully not even enter the babe's room unless truly necessary.

The Snoo app likewise records the babe'south sleep.  This allows sleepy parents to easily admission the infant's sleep patterns.

The Swaddle – many babies honey being swaddled as newborns.  The Snoo comes with a sleepsack that clips into the bassinet so that babies don't become escape artists.

The Appearance – the Snoo has a sleek and modern blueprint that becomes an accessory in almost rooms.  It fit nicely in the space Liz and Arys used it in.

Piece of cake Assembly – Liz reported that the Snoo was very easy to put together.

Option to Hire – the Snoo has a hefty price tag, and you can merely use it until your babe can curl over (typically about iv-vi months).  Liz and Arys rented a Snoo for $100/month and found that well worth it while on vacation.  On the Happiest Baby spider web site, the Snoo rental is $149 per month plus a reconditioning fee—check the Happiest Infant site for special offers on rentals—they do popular up.

The 'Wish it Were Unlike' … was the Snoo worth information technology for Liz and Arys?

The Price – The Snoo costs almost $i,500.  While Liz said the technology makes the Snoo worth the cost, she also said she never would take even considered the Snoo for her firstborn who slept well.  She said despite the cost, she wouldn't change annihilation about the Snoo or the app.

The Verdict

The Snoo is totally worth it if your babe has any issues sleeping, just it'south probably best to rent and make sure it helps.  You will only use the Snoo for four-6 months anyways, and then renting for the entire fourth dimension is probably the manner to go no thing what – unless of course you're planning on a firm full of children!

Wrapping upward, additional photos & total notes

Notes from the journey

Below are the notes I took along the manner on what nosotros observed, how we felt, etc. I've edited them for clarity.

Pre-Delivery

  • Sticker shock
  • Ordering procedure very much like interacting with a modernistic tech visitor. Mobile ordering worked well, well-designed emails
  • Disappointed b/c the website noted if I ordered before noon PST it'd exist shipped that 24-hour interval, it didn't ship until the following twenty-four hours
  • Nice series of well-timed emails preparing me for Snoo delivery – setup and use emails came on the day the Snoo arrived
  • Every bit someone who likes to read lots about products earlier I buy them, I found myself wanting more. Snoo has a listing of questions from prospective customers and answers in the reviews department, but it wasn't very robust. A bit more than information lived in blog posts, but this wasn't obviously accessible
  • Most of the third party sites I found when searching for Snoo reviews were actually just printing the company received when launching

Twenty-four hour period ane (12/30/sixteen)

Unboxing and Setup

  • Very easy to put together. Loved the fact no tools were required. Legs snapped in with a very satisfying click and the double hand-tightened bolts made me experience like they were very secure
  • The unboxing feel felt much more than similar unboxing a new iPad or MacBook than a standard piece of baby equipment
  • Only trouble was trying to get the power cord to stay in the small channel along a leg
  • Really heavy

First Nighttime

  • Jamee remarked the sack'due south straightjacket like effect and the all-white design made it look like Ruby was in some sort of establishment when nosotros laid her down in the Snoo
  • Actually turning it on was quite easy to do, just the push of a button. Ruby started to cry and the Snoo cycled upwards through higher levels of rocking and white racket, which audio similar rain, a vacuum cleaner, and a washing machine at higher levels
  • This was noticeable but didn't forbid me from falling comatose
  • The rocking is quite vigorous. Ruby'due south head rocked dorsum and along in a style that was close to alarming at higher levels of intensity. Jamee asked if I was certain the Snoo knew how old Carmine was and was rocking an appropriate amount
  • The 3rd level of Snoo's white racket/rocking combo calmed Carmine and stopped her crying and she slept for a while in the Snoo but seemed more restless than she has in her Stone 'northward Play, which has been her previous bed. This certainly could be a familiarity thing and since I'd read Snoo'due south tips for transitioning to the Snoo (tin can take a few days for babies to get used to, up to a week for older babies) it fabricated me less anxious the Snoo wasn't going to piece of work
  • After about an hour and a half in the Snoo and another feeding, we decided to resume Snoo preparation the adjacent solar day during naps and returned Ruddy to her Rock 'n Play due to restlessness in the Snoo

Day 2

Get-go nap

  • Put Ruby in the Snoo Sack when she was getting tired after some play, rocked her to sleep in our arms and put her in the Snoo. The transition went well and Ruby slept peacefully for near 45 minutes while the Snoo gently rocked her.
  • I realized afterward the initial "purple" level the Snoo's rocking slows downward and white noise quiets downwardly as it transitions to a "slumber" level marked by a blue calorie-free. Rocking and white noise continues at some depression level the whole time Snoo is on.
  • At 45 minutes, Ruby-red got hungry and the Snoo cycled through its levels every bit she started to cry. I decided to pull her out earlier it went through the full wheel since I knew she was hungry

Day iv

Beginning full night in the Snoo

  • Successfully used Snoo to calm downwardly Cerise when nothing else was working, get ourselves 15 precious minutes to eat dinner
  • Pulled Cherry-red out of the Snoo effectually midnight when it wasn't calming her down, only then was able to put her back in. Pretty much a normal night, Jamee was likewise tired to give her thoughts but I slept well

Day v

  • Cherry-red got fussy after existence in the Snoo before we went to bed and wasn't calmed by increased motion and white racket. Pulled her out, which instantly calmed her and tried over again.
  • Repeated this process several times. She seemed to be having gas pains and seemed to exist calmed when her caput was elevated, which we accomplished by holding her and putting her in the Rock 'n Play. It was difficult to tell whether the Rock 'north Play was actually improve at keeping her calm during the gas pains, nosotros alternated between Rock 'north Play and Snoo throughout the night.
  • Note here: information technology's actually difficult to tell with kids whether one thing is working improve as y'all can't effort both simultaneously

Day seven

  • Cerise cruel asleep in my arms the early evening for a nap and I thought most sticking her in the Snoo, but so idea nearly the actress few seconds it would take to stick her in the Snoo Sack then the Snoo, and that she might wake upwards, and concluded upward just using the Rock 'n Play
  • Peacefully downward at night in the Snoo, a few minutes later on she vomited all over the Snoo Sack, mattress, and through the mesh onto the floor. Since there were merely one small sleep sack and ane fitted canvas, we put her back in directly on the mattress and in the medium sleep sack, which seemed to fit fine.
  • Really, only ane sheet and one sack of each size? Price of extras felt exorbitant
  • Down awake in the Snoo
  • Jamee read almost Snoo winning awards as nosotros lay in bed after the incident

Mean solar day 10

  • Put Red downward in the Snoo. About 15 minutes later I was reading out loud when she got fussy. We decided to go run into if the Snoo could at-home her. She cried for the first two levels (2 minutes). At the 3rd level, she calmed and then went to sleep. Wow. I would have had to go out of bed to rock her in my artillery for who knows how long if it hadn't been for the Snoo.

Day eleven

  • Ruby was fussy when we got her ready for bed and in a Snoo Sack for the evening around ten:15. Jamee suggested I put her in the Snoo instead of trying to rock her calm/to sleep. I did. She calmed pretty darn quickly. Woah, that was pretty sweet. Most made me feel guilty.
  • 15 minutes later, fussy again, calmed at orange level.

Mean solar day 14

  • Calmed Ruby in my arms before bed and put her in the Snoo. She got fussy upon being put down simply calmed every bit the Snoo went up a few levels

Twenty-four hours 15

  • Snoo app updates. Pretty cool to take a baby bed that gets smarter with software, but similar your iPhone or a Tesla

Solar day 18

  • Had discussions with Jamee about only how useful this thing really was. On the downside, it didn't work when Cherry had tum pains. Nevertheless, at other times when Ruby was tired but only seemed to want to be carried around, we put her in the Snoo and information technology gently rocked her while she was calm and went to sleep. We started to realize this probably saved united states 30 minutes a dark of walking her around while she fell asleep

Day xx

  • The Snoo was a huge help today while working from home. It was clear Crimson was getting tired only wouldn't sleep in the Rock 'northward Play and was fussy even when I held her. Put her in the Snoo for two naps and she conked right out both times.

Solar day 21

  • Experiment day.
  • Put Scarlet down for a nap in her crib while she was asleep. She woke herself upwards by vomiting, put her dorsum down subsequently a change of apparel and she went dorsum to sleep in the crib
  • We tried again at nighttime. Crimson was fussy in her crib. Later nigh five minutes Jamee asked, I wonder what would happen if we put her in the Snoo. Would she calm down right away? I wholeheartedly agreed. We did and she calmed instantly, even though she was still awake. Jamee, "this is how they hook you. What wouldn't you pay for your child's happiness?" Me, "and your own" Jamee, "it's win-win"

Twenty-four hours 23

  • another experiment with putting Ruby down in the crib for the dark. She'south fussy and we give upwardly after approximately 5 minutes, put her in the Snoo, and find she's perfectly at-home and goes to sleep
  • We begin to wonder if Ruby is addicted to the Snoo. Is this now just her comfortable place?

Day 24

  • Time to make a decision.
  • Here are some things nosotros consider: 1) The Snoo admittedly calms Ruby and puts her to sleep in the evening and for naps. ii) We accept no style of knowing whether, if we hadn't gotten a Snoo, whether Ruby would have trained herself to autumn comatose in the crib only equally she did in the Snoo, three)The Snoo has absolutely saved us some evenings of walking her around while she falls asleep, 4) Unless you lot have twins, you lot can't actually run an experiment on your baby to see how effective something is or isn't. Even with twins, small sample size, 5) Other than her congestion and tum pains, Ruddy seems to exist a good sleeper. In that location oasis't been whatsoever instances where Ruby woke upward in the center of the night (other than to feed) and the Snoo calmed her back to sleep. six) Cherry-red's reflux (nosotros assume it's that) is causing her to be majorly congested at night. We end up trying to clear her olfactory organ 1x per night, and likewise finds that she seems to breathe easier in the Rock 'n Play so we finish up transferring her there with frequency. This makes the Snoo less useful, though we'd both rather have her sleeping apartment if possible. 7) There take definitely been some 'phenomenon/night-nurse moments in the evening as we were getting ready for bed where Ruby was fussy and just calm when nosotros walked her around, we got exhausted, tried the Snoo, and she calmed right down as if nosotros were holding her and walking viii) our first daughter was an excellent sleeper. Mayhap Crimson would be likewise without the Snoo? (She didn't start out that style, but maybe she simply needed time?)
  • We determine the merely way to really determine how effective this affair is to put her dorsum into the crib for a period of 7-x days. This should give her enough fourth dimension to get used to the crib – information technology took nearly a week for her to adjust from Stone 'n Play —> Snoo

Twenty-four hours 25

  • I electronic mail the Snoo people and tell them we need to return the Snoo as our 30-day trial flow is nearly upward, the reflux/transfer bit, and that nosotros're not fully convinced this thing is "night nurse" level
  • They email me dorsum correct away with a very nice bulletin saying that they're very lamentable to hear the Snoo hasn't lived up to expectations, are happy to process my return, only earlier they practice would I want to talk to their Slumber Expert who has 30 years of experience

Solar day 31

  • after getting back from a long weekend where Ruby was in the stone n play (lack of portability), we put Ruby in the crib. She lets out the occasional annoyed squawk for about twenty minutes while falling asleep, but does go to sleep without interference from united states of america

24-hour interval 32

  • Ruddy is relatively warning when bedtime rolls around, and we rock her to slumber in our artillery for a total of about 15 minutes. While I'1000 doing my portion of this, I recall "I am basically a human Snoo" and ask myself questions like, "is this fourth dimension when I'1000 bonding with my daughter, and therefore something I *should* exist doing? / as a decorated parent, should I not have to feel guilty virtually doing this rocking for me?", "What would I rather exist doing? What do I have to practise?", "If I spend this amount of time each night for the side by side four.5 months, how much fourth dimension will that be? And what would the Snoo exist worth on a per-minute footing to save my time?"
  • Nigh half an 60 minutes later, Ruby starts to be unsettled and crying a bit. We give it a couple of minutes then I go in there, concur her while walking her around and walking for almost five minutes. Put her back and she goes down over again
  • Middle of the nighttime snot clearing. Out Cerise down in the crib afterward and she got fussy. Had to pick her up and rock her for 5 min. Wanted to aspect not beingness able to fall asleep after this to rocking, not sure if this is fair – Blood-red was fussy over again, got fed, was congested, I put her in stone due north play
